Presidency reacts days after reports claimed Buhari snubbed Governor Ganduje in Daura during Sallah

– Femi Adesina accused mischief makers of carrying the report to embarrass Governor Ganduje

– Adesina said the governor visited Buhari in London and also received him in Kano

President Muhammadu Buhari did not snub Kano state governor, Ibrahim Ganduje, in Daura as reported by the media recently, a spokesperson to the Nigerian leader, Femi Adesina, has said.

In a statement in the evening of Monday, September 11, Adesina claimed the report was part of the antics of mischief makers wishing to rubbish Governor Ganduje.

“The president had received Gov Ganduje, along with others, a few weeks ago in London, and the Kano state governor had also welcomed the president, alongside many others, on his return to the country on August 19.

“Why would such a person then be snubbed, as being reported, particularly on social media?

“Gov Ganduje had visited Daura during the Sallah holidays to commiserate with the Emir of Daura, His Royal Highness Faruk Umar Faruk, who had recently lost his younger brother, Barde n’Daura.

“The governor then used the opportunity to be part of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration,” the statement obtained by NAIJ.com said adding that there was no reason for Buhari to have snubbed Ganduje or anybody else for that matter.

NAIJ.com recently reported how President Muhammadu Buhari returned to Abuja after spending his Eid el-Kabir break in Daura, Katsina state.

A News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) correspondent reported that the presidential helicopter with registration no. NAF-540 left the Daura helipad for Abuja at 10.24 am.
